Frequently asked questions about the POINT Twin charger

Can I charge two vehicles simultaneously with one POINT Max charger?

Yes, POINT Max has two sockets so you can connect two cars at the same time and distributes the load evenly between them.

Can a POINT Max be installed on a wall?

We have designed POINT Max to be anchored to the floor. If you need a wall-anchored charger, we recommend the POINT Twin.

Is it possible to put more than one charger in the same location and have them connected to each other?

Yes, collective installations may require control of the charging of each vehicle depending on the characteristics of the installation and the consumption of the site at any given time. POINT chargers allow to manage the load individually, ensuring an optimization of the total power available for the whole set of chargers, resulting in savings in the installation and in the electricity supply contract.

Are POINT chargers compatible with all electric vehicles?
  • Our chargers have been designed in compliance with all standards, regulations and requirements of automotive brands, and are compatible with all electric vehicle models on the market. Just make sure that the vehicle's connector is type 2.
How does power control work in collective installations?

There are two modes: Static control y Dynamic control.
In static control, the set of chargers optimizes the distribution of a certain power set in the configuration of the group, depending on the individual consumption of each unit.
In dynamic control, the set of chargers optimizes the distribution of the power available at each moment according to the individual consumption of each unit, the other consumptions of the site, the production of the generation systems (solar panels) and the contracted power at the site.

How do all POINT chargers of the same installation communicate with the management platform?

The POINT range of chargers guarantees the communications of all the equipment at the same site connected to each other with its management platform through any of them. Its advanced local network communications system minimizes the cost of communications installation and provides maximum flexibility in a simple way and without the need for complex configurations.

Can equipment be added to an existing POINT charger installation?

Of course! The POINT range charger group system allows you to scale the size of your installations, adding equipment at any time and matching growth and investment to evolving needs. Each new piece of equipment added will immediately benefit from the advantages of operating in a group from the point of view of power control and communications at that site.

Can the car charger be disconnected during charging?

No, all cars have a locking system whereby the connector can only be disconnected if the car is unlocked. Also, POINT chargers with socket have a locking system in the socket, so it would not be possible to remove the cable from the charger either.

Can any unauthorized person access the inside of the charger?

No, POINT chargers are equipped with a vandal-proof system that warns in case of any unwanted opening attempt.

Is identification always required to load a vehicle?

This is not necessary if it has been configured for free charging. The configuration can be changed at any time and RFID identification via the charger's reader can be made necessary.

Who can install a POINT charger?

The installation must be carried out by authorized installers to ensure compliance with current regulations for electrical installations.
